001-500.jpg

Itinerant Sawyers. This wagon resembles very closely Frank Macomber's wagon which won second prize in the 1908 Head of Westport Old Home Week Parade. The lengths of the logs might indicate the sawyers have cut the wood into ax-ready lengths to be split for firewood. The men's clothing, the leafless trees, and firm ruts in the ground suggest cold weather.
