Westport Historical Society presents:

Treasures and Traditions: A Portrait of Westport’s Past
An exhibition exploring what it means to have lived in Westport in the past and how this meaning is carried through to the present day by objects, documents and photographs from the collection of Westport Historical Society and loaned by members of this community.

Our summer exhibition Treasures and Traditions is open June 30th – September 4th 2007
Mondays and Wednesdays 10 – 3, Saturdays 1 – 4 or by appointment.

A History of the Acoaxet Chapel with Reverend Hollis

Thursday, July 19th 2007
7:30 PM at Acoaxet Chapel
26 Howland Road, Westport Harbor

This program will explore the history of the Acoaxet Chapel, located at Westport Harbor. The Acoaxet Chapel was built by private donations in 1872 and since there was no place for worship at the Harbor, the chapel was to be for the free use of all denominations.

Reverend Robert Hollis and others will present pictures, artifacts and stories about the chapel and life at the Harbor. Please note that this program will be held at the Acoaxet Chapel.

Admission is free, but donations will be gladly accepted. Refreshments will be provided. Please call 508-636-6011 for reservations.
