“Rough Waters: North Watuppa Reservoir” with Tom Moran

Thursday, May 17th, 2007
7: 30 PM at Greenwood Terrace,
666 State Road (Route 6)

Westport Historical Society presents a look into the history of North Watuppa Reservoir and its impact on the surrounding region. The southern tip of North Watuppa pond extends into Westport. It has been the source of water power, the cause of border disputes and boundary changes, the subject of court cases and controversy, closely intertwined with the development of mills of Fall River and Westport.

Tom Moran has close personal connections to the topic. His grandfather, John W. Moran, acted as superintendent and chief engineer of the Watuppa waterworks between 1910- 1945.

Admission is free, but donations will be gladly accepted. Refreshments will be provided. Please call 508-636-6011 for reservations.
