“Pirates and Privateers of New England”
Please join us for an entertaining and dynamic look at the adventures of pirates and privateers in New England waters. John McNiff, in full piratical regalia, will present an overview of pirates and privateers in this region, from the 1600’s to the end of the American Revolution including well known personalities such as Blackbeard and Thomas Tew as well as some lesser known pirates and privateers of Westport’s waters.
John McNiff, a native of Rhode Island, is both an archaeologist and historian. He currently serves as a ranger in the National Park Service.
Admission is free, but donations will be gladly accepted. Refreshments will be provided. Please call 508-636-6011 for reservations so that we can plan accordingly.
