June Brownell Roche will speak about her life and career in the
international world of fashion. A graduate of New Bedford Institute of
Technology (UMass Dartmouth), June Roche went on to become Corporate
Fashion Director of Milliken & Co., one of the largest textile
manufacturers in the U.S where she was responsible for setting color
lines, designing fabrics, packaging and promoting Milliken products. Her
ability to forecast trends in color and fabric led her to become known
as the “color girl.” Today her influence can be seen in many
different industries including clothing, shoes, automobiles, wallpaper
and home furnishings. Having traveled far in her career, June now
resides at Westport Point.
Admission is free, but donations will be gladly accepted. Refreshments
