About the Westport Historical Society
The Westport Historical Society was founded in 1965 and is dedicated to preserving the history of Westport and making that history known to Westport citizens.
Our mission:
To collect, preserve and document the material culture of Westport; and to educate and connect the residents of the area to their heritage through public programs, exhibits, publications and research.
With these goals in mind we present programs of historical interest and publish a newsletter, The Harbinger, that informs our membership of events and also presents notes of historical interest. This web site is our latest venture in fulfilling that basic mission.
